The Big Idea

The big idea that we thought about is to make a program that aims toward young children to build their foundation in qualities of Christ, ethics and integrity. We name it "Little Hands" program. This program is conducted with younger kids because childhood is an important stage of development to us all, with most of our habits derived from childhood. The activities would consist of entertaining and active experiences such as a field trip to Jakarta’s slum areas and helping others in need by their own hands. Teaching little kids that needed it, fund raising to donate to others and more.

Pray for Jakarta

Mr. Mak, we apologise for not being able to show you our progress and electronic rough draft due to the blackout that we have been experiencing in our houses that disconnected our internet connections and access to meet up together. As a result, we weren't able to work together in the google drawing and our assessment would not make it on time to be submitted today.

To everyone who is reading our blog, please pray for Jakarta and hope that the flood won't cause any death or diseases to the people living in Jakarta. May God bless them all and protect all the victims of the flood. 

  

Interconnected Graphic

The things that we learn this year in Worldview class are questions of worldview, bullying, just war theory, conflict, attributes of God, forgiving, integrity and the fact that we, humans are broken.

So the question is: how are they all related?

Bullying are caused by the fact that humans are hurting and broken, thus thinking that by hurting others they could heal and hurt less. Just war theory taught us that people are worth dying for which brings us to a conclusion that if people are so valuable then no one should ever bully another in the first place. This is a conflict that involves a win-lose situation which is somehow like parasitism. The bully is the parasite and the victim is the loser. But at the same time, it could actually be called a lose-lose situation because the victim is suffering from the treatment of the bully to them while the bully itself really doesn't benefit much from it but in fact just keeps digging it's own grave, adding more pain to his or her life. In a situation like this, there is conflict and the victim (if the person is spiritual) should be able to forgive the bully in hope that the bully doesn’t know what he is doing and that he will change sometime in the future to become a better man. However, the victim shouldn’t just stay quiet and let the bully keep on bullying him/ her but instead have some integrity. 
When someone does have integrity, they wouldn't even bully someone else in the first place because integrity are being a good example, seeing high moral standards, letting God work in you by fulfilling the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control), working diligently, respecting others and rejoicing when others succeed. If a person truly has integrity, he/ she wouldn't be a bully in the first place. As victim you will also need integrity as you are supposed to be a good example and do the right thing, which in this case is stopping the bully from bullying you and as much as possible change his/ her way for the better. 
Integrity has a connection too with the attributes of GOD because God has many attributes (omniscient, merciful, loving, etc.) and one of them is integrity. Integrity means having principle in life and the victim should therefore remind the bully that there is a God who is watching over him and he should repent while he can as this should be one of the principles of God’s followers (reminding others the existence of God and asking them to repent). 
Finally it all comes down to the question of worldview which are questions regarding our origin, meaning, morality and destiny. When we know our origin, we would be able to understand the attributes of God. When we know the meaning of our life we would know how precious people's lives are and be a blessing for those around us. When we know morality, we can live our lives in integrity, we won't bully anyone to begin with and we would be able to forgive people who've done wrong because it's the right thing to do. When we know our destiny, we would try and fulfil that destiny.

Graphics, layout and fonts

As for the graphics we haven't yet figure out exactly what we'll choose but we will choose or even make something that will represent our idea. We may use charts or tables to tell the viewer exactly what we mean. The layout that we will be a creative one and  we hope that it will be eye catching that people will give their little share of time to read our graphic presentations. The fonts we use will be the eye catching and nice ones (cute and cool ones) to make the reader feel happier when they read and see it.

Roles of the team

In order to do this project we need solid teamwork and to be organized we have divided the work in between our group. Below are the names and lists of what each person will do.

Jessica is the leader that will help her team member and coordinate and organize all the work to make the final result. Rafi, Alex and Edgard will be the one listing what we learn and together we will connect those points together to make a new idea to improve students life on the inside. We all will find the graphics related to our explanation and use it for this project and at the end Rafi will print the digital presentation of our project.

Biography of Alexander Kusuma Wijaya

Alex is a Singaporean who lives in Indonesia and has been a Springfield student since as long as I could remember back in primary. He has been renowned amongst the tenth grader for being able to achieve the highest grade possible with minimal effort needed. Sometimes the other students (including myself) get jealous of his natural ability to be so intelligent without having to study at all - he's one of the top students in the 'procrastinator list'. HAHAH :D! Most people would probably say that Alex is a pretty carefree and reckless person at times. He has a high self esteem which made it possible for him to present in front of class and did it so well in which most people would not be able to do if they do not plan beforehand.

When it comes to spiritual matters, everyone is able to conclude that Alex is not a very spiritual person as he made it obvious that he is not. He's a very logical person and he is basing every aspect of his life on logic and thus, spiritual matters are not his basis for life. Whenever Alex is not in school and not working in his studies or whatsoever (which is around 90% of the time :P), you can probably find him at home playing games or reading story books. As you can see, Alex doesn't have to be a serious student and he would already be able to receive a satisfying score in the core subjects. I would personally advise him to be more serious when he's enrolled in university later, though. In my own perspective, it would be impossible for Alex to give up his procrastinating/lazy personality and I hope  that the time where his intelligence alone won't be enough to overcome the obstacles in the future will never come. :)

Biography of Edgard Jeremy

Edgard was born and grown in Jakarta. He moved here because he saw most of my friends went here, so he followed the trend. He believe this is also God’s plan for him to be here. He thinks of himself as an emphatic and good listener when they have problems in their way, sometimes they ask him for advice. He's also known for being a helpful, obedient, patient and honest introvert. He used to go to Ichthus School in his primary years and his favourite subject is choir and math. He's been seriously studying since he was 13. He wins award in poetry reading, swimming and singing. He is exhilarated when his work is functional or useful to others, at least. However, if his work would change a person's life or perspective then it will be so much better for him.

He is good at swimming, singing, drawing and photography. He also feel that he's good in maths. He likes math and physics. He enjoy drawing cartoons, animation, etc. He also like food photography and teaching Sunday school.

You could find him in his apartment, swimming or at home in the weekend. He like to spend his weekend by visiting his cousins and family.

He believe that God has an ultimate plan for him. He's a quiet person and he doesn't have any interests that are related to other people's interests like youtube channels, games, sports, nike shoes, twitter, Snapchat, so for some people he looks like a nerd. In the future, he wants to be a person that will one day, transform other people's life, and become useful for his surroundings and became a blessing to others.
